Service of crankshaft main bearing seal starts by taking out the flywheel or flexplate followed by removing the oil pan. Detach the six bolts which hold the crankshaft rear seal with its retainer plate before removing these components together. The Crankshaft Rear Seal Installer guides installation of the crankshaft rear seal along with its retainer plate onto the crankshaft before torquing the six bolts sequentially to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Reattach both components by putting back the oil pan followed by the flywheel or flexplate.
