To service the EGR valve on manual transmission cars you should detach the shifter. The next step requires you to take out both the rear driveshaft along with the exhaust downpipe. Install a proper transmission jack and remove the six bolts which secure the crossmember-to-frame connection three on each side. Reinstall these bolts with a torque of 99 Nm (73 lb-ft).
