2009 Lincoln MKZ A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the A/C Condenser on 2009 Lincoln MKZ?
A: Start the HVAC condenser repair procedure by recovering all the refrigerant present in the system. Position the vehicle at neutral with a hoist system and remove the cooling fan along with the washer reservoir filler neck bolt. Replace the condenser fitting nuts and fittings after discarding the gasket seals and tighten them to 15 Nm (133 lb-in) when installing them. First detach the two radiator brackets from the radiator core support after moving the cooling module rearward then eliminate the two radiator brackets. A drain pan should be positioned under power steering hose connections so you can free both hose clamps at the condenser before disconnecting the hoses. First remove the condenser manifold rivet before detaching the condenser from the radiator by releasing its two clips at the condenser location. Installation requires the opposite steps of removal plus replacement gasket seals and correct amounts of clean PAG oil for lubricating the refrigerant system. The power steering system requires final filling before executing the evacuation, leak detection and pressure charging of the refrigerant system.
