2008 Lincoln MKZ A/C Condenser Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Condenser Core on 2008 Lincoln MKZ?
A: The first task for servicing HVAC condenser core maintenance includes refrigerant recovery. The vehicle should face neutral position on a hoist before removing the cooling fan and washer reservoir filler neck bolt. Wrench off the two condenser fitting nuts then replace gasket seals with new ones while screwing the fittings to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) after installation. Two radiator brackets on the radiator core support need unclipping before moving the cooling module rearward for removing the brackets. Collect a drain pan and then unclamp the two power steering hoses connected to the condenser before disconnecting them from their positions. First remove the condenser manifold rivet before releasing the two clips at the radiator to detach the condenser away from the radiator and extract the condenser core. Install the components by applying new gasket seals along with proper clean PAG oil lubrication of the refrigerant system. Before completion of the procedure you must perform the steps of filling the power steering system then evacuating and conducting leak tests and finally charging the refrigerant system.
