How to service and repair the oil pan safely and effectively on Ford Crown Victoria?

In order to fix the oil pan, turn off the fire suppression system and lift the car. Take out the front crossmember, empty the oil, and take off the oil pan. Wipe surfaces with a plastic object, put sealant on and put back together. Fasten bolts, replace oil, verify leakage and also refill fire suppression system.
