How to Service the Camshaft Position Sensor on Ford E-150?

A proper camshaft position (CMP) sensor service procedure begins with disconnecting the battery ground cable. Start by removing both the air cleaner and air cleaner outlet pipe from the apparatus. The CMP sensor electrical connection should be detached followed by removal of the bolt which maintains the CMP sensor position in place. Check the O-ring seal for damage then perform a replacement if needed. Application of clean engine oil on the O-ring seal should happen before installation. The installation of the CMP sensor requires tightening it to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque before you proceed with the reverse order of removal steps to finish the installation.
