Service and repairing operations on the radiator begin with draining the cooling system followed by air cleaner assembly removal. The next procedure requires removing plastic rivet retainers with the
Air Deflector and disconnecting radiator hoses and overflow hose connecting to the radiator. Attention is needed while working with the large clutch assembly nut because its right-hand threaded design requires counterclockwise rotation for unwinding. Uncouple the fan and
Fan Clutch from the water pump pulley before unscrewing the bolts needed to lift the
Fan Shroud along with the fan and fan clutch from the vehicle. The underbody splash shield should be taken off when it is available. You must compress the clamps before sliding the hoses away from the radiator and finally using twist motion to remove the transmission oil cooler hoses. Turn each set of bolts retaining the support brackets to the radiator support in opposite directions then lift the brackets up and away from the radiator. Take the radiator out as the final step of removing components. When reinstalling perform all procedures backward from the removal step while reusing hose clamps at locations which previously used shrink clamps.
