How to service and repair the automatic transmission shifter on Ford E-250?

The service and repair of automatic transmission shifters starts with taking out the instrument panel cluster opening finish panel assembly. The ignition switch lock cylinder needs removal when positioning the key to RUN and using a specific tool to activate the release tab through the lower shroud hole while extracting the cylinder outward. Begin by removing the upper steering column shroud then detach the electrical connector from the transmission range selector lever before this component can be taken out. Replacement of the transmission range selector lever pin should always happen whenever the component is taken out. The reverse sequence needs to be applied to reinstall the component after removal.
