You must start vehicle service on the oil level indicator and tube for 4.6L (2V) and 5.4L (2V) engines by first removing the air cleaner alongside the air cleaner outlet pipe. The left-hand
Exhaust Manifold should be detached during the next step. Following that order the technicians remove the nut and bolt together with the oil level indicator and tube while discarding the O-ring seal. Check the oil level indicator tube to identify any potential damages. To install the oil level indicator on the 4.6L (2V) engine start with oil lubrication of a new O-ring seal followed by proper placement of the indicator and secure it with bolt and nut to achieve a torque of 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Attaching the 5.4L (2V) engine requires the same procedure of oiling an O-ring seal before installing the bolt while securing it with 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque. Install the front oil level indicator together with the tube support bracket nut until the torque reaches 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). The final installation task consists of reinstalling the left-hand exhaust manifold as well as the air cleaner outlet pipe with its accompanying air cleaner.
