Ford E-250 Wiper Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Wiper Switch on the Steering Column Multifunction Switch on Ford E-250?
    A:
First step when servicing or repairing the wiper switch on the steering column multifunction switch demands a disablement of the supplemental restraint system (SRS). You should start by pushing the Ignition Switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the lock cylinder after turning the ignition switch to the RUN position with an ignition key and entering the key into the ignition switch lock cylinder. In case the tilt release lever or handle exists you must remove it. Tear down the three upper and lower steering column shrouds retaining screws before removing the two multi-function switch screws while installing the new switch with a tight torque of 3 Nm (27 lb-inch). Unplug the multi-function switch electrical connectors before following the opposite installation order to replace it. The service requires a final step of repowering the SRS to finalize the procedure.
