    A: A new A/C accumulator desiccant bag needs to be installed during A/C system servicing only after observing physical signs from either a failed A/C compressor or desiccant bag damage such as physical destruction or water contamination. Moisture contamination develops only when the system experiences complete refrigerant loss combined with system pressure reaching atmospheric pressure for more than one hour. The technician must wait until all positive refrigerant pressure dissolves before replacing the desiccant bag. The first step involves unfastening the A/C Condenser core from its location. The operation to replace the A/C accumulator plug begins with unplugging it and requires you to tighten it back into position with 3 Nm (27 lb-in). Users should use an appropriate tool to take out the A/C accumulator desiccant bag properly on site. Reinstall the new A/C accumulator plug by performing the opposite steps used for removal and applying PAG oil to the O-ring seal.
