How to service and repair the automatic transmission shifter on Ford Excursion?

In order to fix the automatic transmission shifter, we need to take out the ignition switch lock cylinder and upper steering column shroud. Unscrew the electrical connector and remove the gearshift lever by getting rid of the pin. When doing the reinstallation, use a new pin and follow the same procedure as the one used to remove the pin, but this time, replace the pin.
