Ford Excursion Flywheel Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the flywheel on Ford Excursion?
A: Service of the flywheel begins when you prepare the vehicle for its extraction. Starting with the transmission removal you must follow with pressure plate and clutch disc extraction. The next step requires removing the flywheel through bolt disassembly as well as guide stud installation. Detach first the bolts and second the reinforcing ring (for 6.0L and 7.3L engines) together with the flywheel and ring gear assembly before removing the guide studs. You must install the guide studs first then proceed to install the flywheel together with its ring gear assembly. You should first install bolts before removing guide studs which need to be tightened to their specified torque values. Following the clutch repair operation complete the vehicle by first adding the clutch disc and pressure plate followed by transmission installation.
