How to Service and Repair the Front Seat Switch on Ford Expedition?

The first step for front seat control switch servicing is to move the seat forward and raise it up which enables easier removal of components. Depower the SRS by pulling out all seat control switch buttons while also removing the power recliner switch button if present. Service personnel should avoid pulling from the inboard front seat cushion panel shield to prevent harm when servicing manual recliner power seats. You must start the removal by taking out the front seat cushion panel shield while releasing first the upper retaining clips from the outboard position then the lower retaining clips. The front screw of the cushion side shield cover needs removal while taking care not to harm the manual recliner lever throughout the operation. You need to detach the switch retainers after accessing the seat control switch through the partially undressed cover to successfully remove the cushion side shield cover. Use your tools to disconnect both the seat control switch and memory SET switch electrical connector. Reach behind to release the clips while removing the seat control switch and perform the opposite steps to reinstall it before power is restored to the SRS. Make sure the SRS operates without issues before giving back the vehicle to customers because the warning indicator lights when removing the RCM fuse while the ignition switch is ON but this condition does not signify a problem.
