Ford Explorer Sport Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the heater core on Ford Explorer Sport?
A: The procedure for heater core maintenance begins by setting your vehicle for operations removal. The first step requires removal of the A/C evaporator housing before proceeding to remove the instrument panel. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and its heat sink should be removed following the separation of both ground strap screws and the heat sink component. Perform a leak test on the heater core before you remove it when there are suspicions of leakage. After this stage, remove the four nuts from the engine area of the dash panel before setting the plenum chamber on the vehicle floor. Unscrew the screws of the heater core cover before extracting both the heater core and cover. The process of heater core installation requires the installation of new oval foam seals around inlet and outlet tubes followed by reversing the removal procedure.
