Service and repair of the power seat switch requires an initial step where the front seat must be removed along with depowering the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). Remove the power seat switch electrical connector before using a screwdriver to detach the rear screw and front screws that secure the seat cushion side shield. Caution is required during side shield detachment from the frame since this process may lead to tab damage. Begin by disconnecting the electrical connector of the power lumbar switch and the power lumbar hose from the switch if equipped and detach the heated seat switch electrical connector if required. The 6-way power seat switch can be removed by unscrewing it after the front seat cushion side shield is taken away. The SRS needs to be repowered after reinstalling both the front seat and reversing previous removal steps.
