How to service and repair the voltage regulator on Ford Explorer?

Start service and repair of the voltage regulator by taking out the generator. Begin the service by removing all screws that secure the voltage regulator/brush holder assembly. Connect a wire inside the brushes using compression until the voltage regulator/brush holder assembly gets installed properly. Secure the assembly and afterward install screws before removing the wire. Finally, reinstall the generator.
