Ford F-150 Heritage Antenna Cable Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the antenna cable on Ford F-150 Heritage?
A: The antenna cable service and repair starts with taking off the wheel and tire from the front part of the vehicle. The front wheel opening moulding on 4x4 vehicles requires removing the pin-type retainer and screws before slowly pulling the moulding until its nine clips disengage. The next step requires unscrewing the inner fender splash shield before pulling it to free its clips. The service on the radio antenna lead-in cable starts by disconnecting this cable from the antenna base and removing the audio unit. To push the antenna cable inside the passenger area slide off the sheet metal clip from the antenna before putting the grommet in place and feeding the cable toward the interior. The antenna lead-in cable removal process ends by disconnecting cable locators from the lower instrument panel channel before extracting the cable under the instrument panel. Follow the opposite order of installation to uninstall the device.
