Start the parking brake shoe service and repair process by lessening the tension on the cable. Start by eliminating the brake disc from the rear section followed by disconnecting the brake shoe adjuster screw and its spring. The service starts by extracting both brake shoe hold-down springs along with their pins then separating the brake shoe retracting spring from the parking brake shoes. The installation requires applying specified grease to the contact points between the shoe and actuator lever and support bracket before proper placement of the parking brake shoes and final attachment of the retracting spring. Attach the two brake shoe hold-down pins and springs then put on the brake shoe adjusting screw spring. Installation of the parking brake adjusting screw requires complete retraction before fitting it in place. The last step includes adjusting the parking brake shoes while reloading tension on the parking brake cable.
