How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Hose on Ford F-250 Super Duty?

Draining power steering fluid from the reservoir requires using an appropriate suction tool as a first step before service and repair of the power steering line. The vehicle should rest on a hoist while positioned at NEUTRAL. When reinstalling the lower power steering pump bolt you must fully tighten it to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). The servicing process starts with cleaning all foreign material from threaded regions to stop fluid leakage before connecting the pressure line to its quick connect while positioning the pressure line bracket and securely tightening the lower power steering pump bolt. The pressure line-to-pump fitting requires a torque of 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.) before reinstallation while the fitting threads should be cleaned next. The technician should disconnect the pressure line from the steering gear fitting before removing this line. When reinstalling this line it should be torqued up to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). You should perform the removal steps in reverse to complete filling the power steering system.
