  A: Service technicians should place all vehicles equipped with TorqShift transmission on a hoist in NEUTRAL before starting to repair or service the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor. Disconnect the OSS sensor connector. Check that the sensor area of transmissions with fixed flanges contains no foreign materials before unscrewing the bolt to remove the OSS sensor. To remove the OSS sensor from transmissions without a fixed flange one should perform initial cleaning activities before uninstalling the sensor by removing its bolt first then the sensor itself. Prior to installing the OSS sensor onto transmissions with a fixed flange users must first apply transmission fluid to the O-ring before installing the sensor while securing it with a bolt tightened to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
