How to Service and Repair the Water Pump on Gasoline Engines on Ford F-350 Super Duty?

Start coolant pump servicing and repairing process on gasoline engines by draining the engine cooling system. The first step requires removal of the cooling fan followed by bolt loosening on the four coolant pump pulley bolts which need re-tightening to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) upon refitting. The accessory drive belt can be removed by rotating the tensioner clockwise from the coolant pump pulley. After that you should remove the four bolts that hold the coolant pump pulley in place. Untighten the four bolts which hold the coolant pump before discarding the O-ring seal. At the stage of new coolant pump assembly consumers should apply metal surface prep as detailed in the packaging instructions before installation of a new O-ring seal which must receive engine coolant lubrication for installation. Reverse the tooling to put on the four install bolts and tighten them to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) following the noted specification.
