How to service and repair the cooling fan shroud on gasoline engines on Ford F-350 Super Duty?

The first step for cooling fan shroud maintenance on gasoline engines requires hoisting the vehicle with neutral transmission. Perform drainage of the engine cooling system before removing the air cleaner outlet pipe. The power steering reservoir requires two bolts for removal to position it aside and must be tightened to 7 Nm (62 lb-inch) after installation. First disconnect the upper radiator coolant hose quick connect coupling by removing its clip then remove the bolts. Proceed with disconnecting the degas bottle coolant inlet hose from the radiator while removing its position retainer from the cooling fan shroud, then placing both components aside. The 4WD differential vacuum valve needs its securing bolt removed for this procedure, after which you should set it aside but tighten the bolt to 8 Nm (71 lb-inch) when reinstalling. The engine compartment wiring harness must be shifted aside by disconnecting all four position retainers. Push the four position retainers and lift the lower cooling fan shroud upwards so it locks into position by the retaining tab. The engine cooling fan shroud assembly needs its four bolts removed and they must be tightened to 7 Nm (62 lb-inch) before reinstalling. After following these instructions, the installation procedure can be finished.
