    Q: How to service the RH camshaft on Ford Five Hundred?
    A: The first service step for the RH camshaft requires timing drive components removal. The cylinder head camshaft journal caps together with cylinder heads receive numbered identification for correct future assembly. The correct sequential bolt loosening enables the camshafts to rise from the cylinder head before you remove both caps and the camshaft bearing. The RH camshafts should be extracted from their respective positions in the cylinder heads. When placing camshafts into the cylinder heads you must first apply clean engine oil as a lubricant before aligning them correctly. Installing camshaft journal thrust caps must be avoided until every camshaft bearing cap is already in position to stop any potential damage. Apply clean engine oil on the bearing surfaces of camshaft bearing caps before installing these caps and their bolts should be installed loosely. Clean engine oil must first lubricate all bearing surfaces on the camshaft bearing thrust caps before their installation while simultaneously using loose bolts. Before reinstallation of the timing drive components finish by properly torquing the specified bolt sequence to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
