You need to maintain record of the numbered cylinder head camshaft journal caps and cylinder heads because they require proper reassembly. Follow the specified sequence for equal bolt loosening of RH camshaft bolts which raises the camshafts above the cylinder head for their removal along with camshaft bearing and thrust caps. The service starts by extracting the camshafts from the Right Hand cylinder heads. Engine oil lubrication precedes camshaft installation before their placement into the cylinder head should occur while maintaining exact alignment. The camshaft journal thrust caps must be avoided until the entire installation of all camshaft bearing caps is accomplished to preserve component integrity. Apply engine oil to the bearing surfaces of camshaft bearing caps before putting them in place by installing the bolts lightly. After lubricating the bearing surface of camshaft bearing thrust caps with clean engine oil you should install them and loosely install their bolts. To finish the procedure tighten all bolts in their specified order until they reach 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) torque value before reinstalling the timing drive components.

Before reinstallation of the timing drive components finish by properly torquing the specified bolt sequence to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
