No obstructions should exist within the window system before attempting to initialize the LH front power window motor. A de-initialized or new LH front power window motor moves proportionally in both up and down directions until it receives initialization. Implementation of new LH front window motor requires following initialization procedures. The original LH front power window motor requires de-initialization before initialization during all instances of removal from the
Window Regulator drum housing or when installing new components including a LH front window regulator, window glass, and glass top run and when applying any grease or lubricants to these components. The installation and tightness verification of window glass and window regulator and window motor and glass top run needs to be completed before starting the process. A partial initialization will force the window motor to work exclusively in the proportional UP and DOWN operations without completing full initialization. Perform the de-initialization procedure by turning the ignition key ON and helping with LH front window operation while removing fuse 30 (30A). Next disable the ignition key. Start with the key ON position and engage and maintain LH front window control switch at top position until window stalls in the upper run before releasing the switch after two seconds. To complete this procedure press and keep holding the DOWN switch until the window reaches the last position at the window's lowest run and follow with switch release after two seconds. Perform a final test to verify proper function of proportional UP and DOWN and one-touch UP and DOWN system movements.
