  Service of the exterior rear door handle begins by taking off the rear door latch element. A T-5 torx socket should be used to loosen the bezel cap bolt but the bezel cap must be held because it protects the door from damage. You should loosen the bolt before extracting the bezel cap and pushing the exterior door handle back to unfasten it along with separation of the exterior door handle gasket. You must loosen the exterior door handle reinforcement bolt before taking out the reinforcement which is located inside the door. You should first let go of the bezel cap until you can remove the bezel cap bolt. Install the exterior door handle reinforcement by placing it inside the door before you apply 7Nm (62lbcm) torque to the reinforcement bolt. After reinforcing the exterior door handle with the bolt, you must position the exterior door handle gasket followed by the handle installation. Fasten the bezel in position before torquing down the bezel cap bolt to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Move the exterior door handle to the forward position before attaching the bezel cap to its designated position and putting back the rear door latch.
