How to Service the Power Steering Hose on Ford Flex?

You should start power steering line service by placing the vehicle on a hoist at NEUTRAL position. The cooler return hose of the steering gear-to-fluid intersects from the cooler by releasing its clamp. The power steering return line bracket should have its three bolts removed before frame installation but exact torque of 5 Nm (44 lb-in) for these bolts during reassembly. The installation of fresh O-ring sealing components becomes necessary whenever power steering lines separate from the steering gear because it prevents fluid leakage. Stabilize the clamp plate by removing its bolt then rotate it to free the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose. Proper reinstallation requires a torque of 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) on the hose connection. Perform the procedure in reverse order after filling the power steering system.
