How to service and repair the turn signal switch on Ford Flex?

Services and repairs to the turn signal switch require starting with the removal of the steering column shroud. The four nuts need removal to lower the steering column but these nuts should get tightened to 18 Nm (159 lb-in) when they are put back. The service and repair of the multifunction switch starts by disconnecting its electrical connector after screw removal from both sides. Installation requires screw tightening at 3 Nm (27 lb-in). The reverse process will finish the installation.
