How to service and repair the turn signal switch on Ford Flex?

In order to service the turn signal switch, a steering column shroud is to be removed, the column is lowered by removing four nuts (tighten to 18 Nm). Unscrew two screws (tighten to 3 Nm) and disconnect the multifunction switch connector, and repeat steps in reverse order.
