How to service and repair the parking brake cable on Ford Focus?

Starting the parking brake cable servicing process requires you to free the brake and untighten the wheel nuts. Raise the vehicle while supporting it and remove the floor console from the vehicle. Start by removing the parking brake cable adjustment nut before proceeding to remove the clip along with the adjustment nut. Detach the wheel after supporting the exhaust pipe then unfasten the rear muffler nuts and remove its hanger insulators. Detach the middle exhaust hanger insulators before separating both the front and back exhaust heat shield elements. The equalizer installation requires removing the rear cables from clips and unfastening the cable guide until the bracket releases the outer cable from its position. To remove the rear wheel speed sensor users must disconnect it before working on vehicles with anti-lock brakes. Unfasten the brake drum and wheel hub assembly before you sever the parking brake cable connection from the backing plate through the steps of releasing the parking brake actuating lever and cable detachment and clip depression for cable removal. Follow the opposite steps of uninstallation to perform the parking brake adjustment.
