In order to service the exhaust manifold on the left hand, disconnect the cooling fans and HO2S connector. Disconnect the manifold to the catalytic converter and disregard the nuts and gasket. Install new studs, tighten them to 12 Nm and re-install new nuts and gasket, following the same procedure in reverse.

How to service the right-hand exhaust manifold on Ford Freestyle?

To repair the right hand exhaust manifold, place the vehicle on a hoist and take out the catalytic converter and HO2S connector. Take off the heat shield bolts, the EGR tube and exhaust manifold nuts. Install studs and gasket and make sure they are tightened to required values. Undo assembly operation.
