How to arm and disarm the air bag system on Ford Fusion?

In order to arm and disarm the air bag system, one has to turn the ignition OFF to ON, and the SRS components must be linked together. The air bag indicator is expected to last 6 seconds. In case it does not turn on or flashes, there is a SRS fault and a chime will sound, it needs repairs.

How Should You Safely Service and Repair a Side Air Bag Module on Ford Fusion?

Wear a safety glasses when servicing the side air bag module and do so carefully. Deploying hands Wash hands post-deployment to eliminate sodium hydroxide. Re-assemble damaged modules, do not probe connectors and make sure that SRS is functioning to hand the vehicle back. Removal and installation do it properly, tightening the bolts to 10 Nm.
