First detach the accessory drive belt before releasing the clamp to disconnect the power steering return hose from the fluid reservoir. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch electrical connector before removing the pressure line banjo bolt and disconnecting the line while discarding both components. During installation of the new line apply torque to the new bolt until it reaches 35 lb-ft (48 Nm). Follow by separating the power steering pump with its three bolts before pulling out the pump and fasten new bolts that need tightening at 24 Nm (18 lb-ft). One must always replace both a new bolt and new seals when disconnecting the power steering pressure line from the pump to avoid fluid leakage. The power steering system filling process should be done after following all removal steps backward.
