Removal of the camshaft involves the removal of radiator assembly, hydraulic lash adjusters and timing chain. Take off camshaft synchronizer and thrust plate bolts, being careful not to break them. Lubricate parts and install, attach bolts to 10 Nm, measure end play and replace radiator, oil and cooling system.

How to service the camshaft on Ford Ranger?

In servicing the camshaft, it is necessary to take the roller followers out and strip the camshaft sprocket with the help of the Cam Sprocket Tool. Take off the camshaft seal, the retainer plate and hoist the engine. Gently take out the camshaft. Apply the Motorcraft oil, and reverse the processes to install, and install the Front Seal Replacer using the new seal.
