How to service and repair the radiator for 3.0L and 4.0L engines on Ford Ranger?

The cooling system needs to be drained before starting radiator repair or servicing on 3.0L and 4.0L engines. First detach the radiator overflow hose before cleaning the cooling fan shroud and disconnection of both top and bottom hoses from the radiator. The transmission cooler tubes at automatic transmission vehicles can be unclipped using back up wrenches which should not touch transmission oil cooler fittings. The radiator requires you to uninstall its supporting two bolts. When installing the radiator place it into position and fasten it using two bolts before tightening them to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.). Automatic transmission vehicles require rejoining transmission cooler tubes to their radiator while maintaining a tightness of 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Lower and upper hoses should be connected before putting back the cooling fan shroud and reconnecting the radiator overflow hose. The cooling system needs to be filled with correct fluid while bleeding occurs while standing clear of engine cooling fan blades to prevent injuries. Monitor the engine operation for several minutes before inspecting all hoses and connections for leaks. The procedure for checking and filling transmission fluid applies to vehicles with automatic transmissions.
