How to Service the Mass Air Flow Sensor on Ford Ranger?

Service of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor requires first disconnecting the battery ground cable and removing the electrical connector of the MAF sensor. The two securing bolts on the MAF sensor need to be removed before you discard the old gasket. Install the new MAF sensor by tightening it to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) but avoid manipulating the MAF sensing elements found in the airflow bypass because such mishandling can produce failure. The MAF sensor module comes preset with its body calibration that needs installation as a single unit. To finish the installation follow the reverse of the removal process while installing a new gasket.
