How to service the front door Window Regulator and Power Window Motor on Ford Ranger?

You need to begin repair of front door window motor and regulator by removing door trim panel and watershield followed by supporting the window glass. Detach the electrical connector when power window motor operation is permitted. The next step requires removal of top and bottom center door glass run retainer nuts before tightening them to 9 Nm (80 lb-in) for future installation. The rivets can be disassembled with a drift punch for steel center extraction and a drill bit with 6.35 mm (1/4 in) diameter for rivet removal. The power window regulator contains 4 rivets but the manual shows 3. Move on to the window regulator extraction after you take out its rivets. Before removing the window regulator motor, check that the window is fully elevated or use some object to stop the regulator arm from moving since an uncontrolled counterbalance spring release could lead to severe injuries. It is possible to remove the window glass motor after detaching its bolts while setting each bolt torque to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) upon reinstalling. Install the new rivets through a Heavy Duty Riveter while performing the exact opposite of removal steps.
