How to service and repair the throttle cable and linkage on Ford Ranger?

The throttle cable repair starts after you remove the screws which detach the accelerator control splash shield. Service and repair of the throttle cable linkage starts by separating the accelerator cable from its mount at the throttle lever. Use a tool to press the tabs for cable detachment from the bracket at the accelerator cable bracket point which requires the same procedure for both 2.5L and 3.0L engines. The procedure starts with disconnecting the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal and shaft by using the clip depressors to detach it. When installing the part execute the reverse order of removal steps.
