The first step in servicing or repairing the throttle cable and linkage requires removal of the bolts which secure the accelerator control splash shield. Proceed by detaching the accelerator cable from the throttle lever before releasing the tabs to remove it from the intake manifold. Release the accelerator cable from both the accelerator pedal and shaft after depressing its tabs two times for total disconnection. Reverse all steps which were used for removal to complete the installation process.
