A technician should start accelerator pedal service and repairs with cable disconnection from the pedal followed by pedal positioning for cable tension relief. The accelerator pedal retaining pin has tabs that you should depress to disconnect the cable. You need to first take out the splash shield of the accelerator cable by removing the pin-type retainers and then removing the shield itself. First disconnect the accelerator cable by setting the throttle cam at Wide Open Throttle position and removing the accelerator cable slug from the throttle cam. Unclip the accelerator cable tabs to separate the cable from its bracket while.RemoveAt last the accelerator cable grommet from the bulkhead position.
