To prevent any accident to the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch, begin by removing the battery ground cable, and emptying the cooling system to some degree. Next, unplug the electrical connector to the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and strip out the sensor. Lastly, reverse the steps done to get the files removed in order to install it.
