Ford Taurus Cruise Control Servo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the cruise control servo on Ford Taurus?
A: Service and repair of the cruise control servo requires disconnecting the battery first step. First disconnect the speed control actuator electrical connector through its connector tab until it separates apart. A release of the speed control cable cap happens when you push its retaining tab and rotate the cap counter-clockwise until detachment from the actuator housing occurs. The core wire end of the speed control cable requires manual pushing of the spring retainer followed by smooth sliding out from the actuator pulley. A person must disconnect the cable before removing the speed control actuator by unfastening its attaching nuts followed by taking out the actuator component. Drain the final bracket of the speed control actuator housing. The installation process should follow the opposite steps of removal.
