How to service the thermostat on Ford Thunderbird?

The service process for the thermostat starts by braking off the air cleaner outlet tube followed by draining the cooling system fluid. The service requires disconnecting the lower radiator hose before placing it away from contact with the drive belt. Remove the bolts followed by the housing before extracting the thermostat with its attached O-ring. The removal procedure should end with new O-ring installation after cleaning all sealing surfaces to finish the installation process.
