The A/C Condenser on Lincoln Continental automobiles serves the primary role of the heat exchanger, which cools down the gaseous refrigerant and condenses it before the start of the Components of the A/C system In the Lincoln Continental automobiles. Located usually in front of the radiator this part is a network of tubes which are instrumental in the cooling process. It is possible that in course of the years, many different types of A/C Condenser could have been used in Continental models but specific ones are not specified. Primarily, it stays the same over these modifications and revolves around refrigerant cooling to maintain the premier efficiency in air conditioning. Therefore, the position and style of the A/C Condenser play a crucial role in the performance of the vehicle's climate control system.

Lincoln Continental A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install the A/C Condenser on Lincoln Continental?
    A:
The first step to remove the HVAC condenser requires removal of the upper sight shield for the Radiator followed by execution of the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure. The next task involves removing screws which allow movement of the windshield washer fluid reservoir filler and screws which detach the RH fender support brace. Conduct the condenser to evaporator tube spring lock coupling disconnection from the aft condenser to evaporator tube before removing the two core retaining nuts which anchor the A/C condenser core to the radiator. The technician should suspend the radiator from the upper radiator support before hoisting the vehicle. The radiator Air Deflector can be removed after you remove the pin-type retainers and screws. The next step involves taking off four bumper cover pin-type retainers before moving the power steering/transmission fluid cooler through screw removal then unscrewing bolts from the LH lower radiator support. Separate the lower radiator support by taking out its bolts before disconnecting the A/C compressor to condenser discharge line spring lock coupling from the A/C manifold and tube. After disconnecting the A/C condenser core from its radiator support brackets remove it together with the A/C compressor to condenser discharge line while also separating the forward condenser to evaporator tube. To install the A/C condenser core use PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) or equivalent and apply the correct amount of oil before attaching the A/C compressor to condenser discharge line and the forward condenser to evaporator tube onto the A/C condenser core while lubricating the O-ring seal with the exact oil used for lubrication. The A/C condenser core needs to be installed onto the radiator at the same time you must connect the A/C compressor to the condenser discharge line spring lock coupling with the A/C manifold and tube. Place back the RH and LH lower radiator supports with their bolts together with the power steering/transaxle oil cooler. After reattaching the bumper cover pin-type retainers and radiator air deflector position the vehicle to its normal height while taking out the temporary radiator supports. Reposition the A/C condenser core on the radiator before securing the two retaining nuts. Also normalize the connection between the front condenser to evaporator tubes through spring lock couplings. The last steps include putting back the RH fender support brace together with the windshield washer fluid reservoir filler and performing the refrigerant system evacuation and charging before finally installing the radiator upper sight shield.
