How to Service the Idle Control Valve on Lincoln Continental?

Disconnection of the battery ground cable constitutes the first step for Idle Control Valve service. The first step involves removing the air cleaner outlet tube together with disconnecting the engine control sensor wires that connect to the Idle Control Valve (ICV). After removing the accelerator shield you can take out the accelerator cable as well as the speed control cable. To access the valve you should remove its bolts then detach the accelerator cable bracket and idle control valve from the engine before tossing out the gasket. The installation process requires following the opposite order of removal while fitting an altogether new idle control gasket.
