The procedure to service Engine Control Module starts with disconnecting the battery ground cable. Service begins with a removal of the cabin air filter plenum combined with the glove compartment. You should remove the three electrical connectors which attach to the powertrain control module (PCM). You must remove the two PCM nuts before installation yet you should tighten them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). The two PCM bracket bolts need removal before installation where torques should measure to 7 Nm (62 lb-in). The PCM assembly with its bracket needs careful removal via the glove compartment opening.
