How to Service the Camshaft Position Sensor on Lincoln LS?

Service of the camshaft position (CMP) sensor begins by taking out the battery ground cable. Begin by removing the engine appearance cover then check whether the noise suppressor remains correctly on the intake manifold during the process. Disconnect the two CMP sensor electrical connectors before removing the ground strap nut along with its set-aside placement with the ground strap tightened to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). After positioning the wiring harness conduit beside the three nuts remove them before retightening all nuts to 8 Nm (70 lb-in). Remove the two bolts which connect the left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) CMP sensors while making sure to tighten them to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) after reinstallation. Perform an inspection of O-ring seals then change any damaged components before reinstalling following the removal steps while applying engine oil to the seals.
