How to Service the Mass Air Flow Sensor on Lincoln LS?

The service of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor begins with unconnecting both the MAF sensor electrical connector and the battery ground cable. Start by loosing the screws on the air cleaner outlet tube clamp before removing the air cleaner housing cover through clip removal and subsequent cover removal. The MAF sensor must be unfastened using its retaining bolts before discarding the gasket. The installer must follow the reverse steps of removal while using a new gasket for sealing purposes because MAF sensor hot wire sensor elements function as one integrated unit which requires whole assembly maintenance to prevent future failure.
