Lincoln Mark LT A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Hose from the condenser to the evaporator on Lincoln Mark LT?
    A:
You must begin any condenser to evaporator service and repair by detaching the battery power while collecting the refrigerant. Service begins with PCM removal through disconnecting the A/C cycling switch electrical connector followed by bolt removal from the three PCM bracket points before extracting the PCM bracket while tightening all bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb-in) when reinstalling. Detach the evaporator inlet fitting followed by removal of its existing O-ring while discarding both O-rings then disconnect the condenser outlet fitting before discarding its O-ring seal and tightening it to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) when reinstalling. The procedure for replacing the condenser to evaporator line requires first removing it then following the reverse steps for installation by using new O-ring seals and correctly implementing clean PAG oil lubrication of the refrigeration system. The system requires evacuation and leak testing and final charging of refrigerant. The replacement of the suction accumulator needs to be done only when visible signs exist which show the A/C compressor failure or damaged suction accumulator hardware.
