Lincoln Mark LT Crankshaft Position Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Crankshaft Position Sensor on Lincoln Mark LT?
A: The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor service process requires that you position the vehicle with neutral gear on a hoist. Detach the ground connection of the battery while also taking off the accessory Drive Belt. The A/C compressor bolts need loosening to enable compressors moving downward 25 millimeters (1 inch) to access the CKP sensor. Pull off the CKP sensor electrical connector and uninstall its mounting bolt before remounting it with 10 Nm (89 lb-in) torque. The A/C compressor bolts need torque application at 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) when reinstallation occurs. After reverse-installing the components the process will finish the installation.
