It is also crucial to avoid memory saver devices due to risk of accidental deployment. First step comprises the complete disablement of both the vehicle accessories along with the ignition. The required procedure includes removing the Smart Junction Box (SJB) cover which sits under the instrument panel's left side then removing RCM fuse 32 (10A) from its location. Check the air bag indicator with the ignition switched ON for at least 30 seconds to verify correct fuse removal by its continuous lit display followed by one flash. The check must lead to a correct fuse being removed before continuing with the operation. Users should turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground cable from the battery while waiting for one minute to drain the back up power supply and disconnect auxiliary batteries when present. Turn the ignition from OFF to ON while installing RCM fuse 32 (10A) into the SJB then seal the cover. The vehicle must be clear of occupants and the air bag modules should have free access before installing the battery ground connection. To test SRS functionality begin with ignition ON followed by a 10-second waiting period and finishing with ignition turned back to ON while you monitor the air bag warning indicator that should stay lit for six seconds then switch off.
